The Basket & The Letters

We found this vintage brass basket made in the northern part of India, and it was the little details that won us over.
The floral patterns winding across its surface, the tiny holes punctuating the metal and the oversized curved handle all give it a personality of its own.
For the assembly, we added colourful metal letters made by a signage maker, spelling out “Fruits”. We wanted to play on the basket’s possible use while adding a bit of colour and fun to its intricate brass-work.
A simple addition that gave this old piece a completely new personality.
